Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Wheels in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the right inner fender splash shield. Refer to Fender in Body Front End.

  4. Object Number: 99207  Size: SH
  5. Remove the transaxle brace bolts.
  6. Remove the transaxle brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 99207  Size: SH
  1. Position the transaxle brace to the transaxle and the engine.
  2. Important: Do not tighten the transaxle brace bolts out of sequence. A side load condition to the transaxle may occur.

  3. Hand start the bolts to the engine and to the transaxle.
  4. Install the bolts to the engine.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the bolts to the transaxle.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  8. Install the inner fender splash shield. Refer to Fender in Front Body End.
  9. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Wheels in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
