Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the case side cover pan. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 99149  Size: SH
  3. Remove the electrical connections from the shift solenoids.

  4. Object Number: 97348  Size: SH

    Important: Do not remove the bolts which hold the pump together.

  5. Remove the pump to valve body bolts.
  6. Inspect the pump. Refer to Oil Pump Disassemble .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97348  Size: SH
  1. Install the pump to the valve body.
  2. Install the valve body bolts.
  3. Tighten

        • Tighten the M6 bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
        • Tighten the M8 bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the electrical connections to the shift solenoids.
  5. Install the case side cover pan. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  6. Adjust the fluid level.
  7. Inspect for the following:
  8. • Proper completion of repairs
    • Proper fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
    • Fluid leaks. Refer to Fluid Leak Diagnosis and Repair Fluid Leak Diagnosis.
