To improve retention of the windshield pillar sealing strips on early production vehicles revised reveal moldings have been released. Vehicles assembled subsequent to the following breakpoints have the revised moldings:
Wilmington 100007
Linden 101148
Vehicles assembled prior to the above breakpoints, and which exhibit loose W/S pillar sealing strips, can be repaired by installing a revised molding. The part numbers for the new (revised) moldings are:
Coupe 10076028-9
Sedan 10076030-1
1. Open front door. 2. Remove sealing strip at the windshield pillar to gain access to the reveal molding. See Illustration. 3. Remove the four screws in the reveal molding. 4. Remove the old reveal molding and install a revised molding. (Revised molding has a "barbed" flange). 5. Insert the four screws. 6. Reattach the sealing strip.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
