Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 302649  Size: MH
  1. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
  3. Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the I/P.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connections.
  5. Disconnect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement .
  6. Disconnect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connections.
  2. Connect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement .
  3. Connect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement .
  4. Install the HVAC control assembly (1) to the I/P .
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 302654  Size: MH
  1. Remove the I/P trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
  3. Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the I/P.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connections.
  5. Disconnect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement .
  6. Disconnect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement .

  3. Connect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement .
  4. Install the HVAC control assembly (1) to the I/P.
