Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 804462  Size: SH
  1. Refer to one of the following procedures in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. • For the Pontiac, remove the instrument panel (I/P) accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
    • For the Chevrolet, remove the I/P cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the screws (2) from the radio (3).
  4. Remove the radio (3) from the I/P carrier (6).
  5. Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable (1).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connections (4).
  7. Disconnect the digital receivers electrical connector (5), if equipped.
  8. Remove the radio (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the digital receiver electrical connector (5), if equipped.
  2. Connect the electrical connections (4).
  3. Connect the antenna coaxial cable (1).
  4. Install the radio (3) to the I/P carrier (6).
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the screws (2) to the radio (3).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).

  8. Refer to one of the following procedures in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  9. • For the Pontiac, install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
    • For the Chevrolet, install the I/P cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  10. If a replacement radio was installed, perform the radio setup procedure. Refer to Radio Setup .
