Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2001 🢒 Sunfire 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Steering Column Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle

    Important: Replace the bearing and housing assembly and the pivot pins if the bearing and housing assembly has been staked 3 times.

  1. Install the bearing and housing assembly.

    2. Object Number: 372978 Size: SH
  2. Lubricate the pivot pins with lithium grease.
  3. Install the 2 pivot pins.
  4. Stake the pivot pins in 3 locations.
  5. Install the lower shaft components. Refer to Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  6. Install the tilt spring only. Refer to Tilt Spring - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  7. Install the Ignition switch assembly only. Refer to Ignition Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  8. Install the lock housing assembly. Refer to Lock Housing Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  9. Install the windshield wiper and washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .
  10. Install the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .
  11. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle .
  12. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
