Removal Procedure
- Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Remove the multifunction switch. Refer to
Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Remove the 2 retaining
head screws from the windshield wiper switch (2).
- Remove the windshield wiper switch (2) from the column (6).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper
switch.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector to the windshield wiper switch (2).
- Install the windshield
wiper switch (2) to the column (6).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 2 retaining
screws to the windshield wiper switch (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 4 N·m (36 lb in).
- Install the multifunction switch. Refer to
Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Ensure that the windshield wiper switch (2)
functions properly.
