Use the Scan Tool Data Display Values and Definitions Information in order to assist in diagnosing vehicle malfunctions. Compare the vehicles actual scan tool data with the typical data display value table information. Use the data information in order to aid in understanding the nature of the problem when the vehicle does not match with the typical data display values.
The scan tool data values were taken from a known good vehicle under the following conditions:
• | The ignition switch is in the ON position. |
• | The engine is not running. |
• | The vehicle is in PARK. |
This output displays the state of the door lock relay. ON is displayed when the body control module (BCM) is providing battery voltage for the door lock relay via the remote keyless entry keyfob.
This input to the BCM displays ON when the BCM senses battery voltage due to the door lock switch being pressed.
This output displays the state of the driver door unlock relay (internal to the BCM). ON is displayed when the BCM is providing battery voltage to the driver door unlock motor via the remote keyless entry keyfob being pressed 1 time.
This input to the BCM displays the state of the driver door unlock relay (internal to the BCM). ACTIVE is displayed when the BCM is providing battery voltage to the driver door unlock motor via the remote keyless entry keyfob being pressed 1 time.
This output displays the state of the door unlock relay. ON is displayed when the BCM is providing battery voltage to the door unlock motor via the remote keyless entry keyfob being pressed 2 times in succession in order to unlock all of the doors.
This input to the BCM displays the state of the door unlock relay. ACTIVE is displayed when the BCM senses battery voltage at the door unlock relay due to the door unlock switch being pressed.
This output displays the state of the trunk release relay (internal to the BCM). ON is displayed when the BCM is providing battery voltage to the trunk release motor via the remote keyless entry keyfob.
This input to the BCM displays the state of the trunk release relay (internal to the BCM). ACTIVE is displayed when the BCM is providing battery voltage to the trunk release motor via the remote keyless entry keyfob being pressed 1 time.
