Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 279014  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper trim finish panel from the front door. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear view mirror absorber.
  3. Disconnect the rear view mirror wire harness (3), if equipped.

  4. Object Number: 279016  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear view mirror nuts (2).
  6. Remove the rear view mirror (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear view mirror (1).

  2. Object Number: 279014  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear view mirror nuts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (2) to 5.6 N·m (49.6 lb in).

  5. Connect the rear view mirror wire harness (3), if equipped.
  6. Install the rear view mirror absorber.
  7. Install the front door upper trim finish panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
