Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Remover

  1. Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  2. Remove the upper trim finish panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 581560  Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower screws (3) from the front door trim panel.
  5. Remove the screws (1) from the front door arm rest.
  6. Using the J 38778 , remove the front door trim panel fasteners from the front door inner panel (2).
  7. Remove the front door trim panel (2).
  8. Disconnect the power door lock switch connector.
  9. Disconnect the speaker connector (front door only)..

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 581560  Size: SH
  1. Push the front door trim panel (2) inward to engage the fasteners.
  2. Connect the power door lock switch connector.
  3. Connect the speaker connector (front door only).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the arm rest screws (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws (1) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the lower screws (3) to the front door trim panel.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws (3) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the upper trim finish panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
  10. Install the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Door Window Regulator Replacement .
