Removal Procedure

  1. Support the hood.
  2. Mark the position of the hood hinge to the hood and the fender.
  3. Marking aids in the alignment of the hood upon hood installation.


    Object Number: 282253  Size: MH
  4. Remove the upper hood hinge bolts (2).
  5. Remove the upper hood hinge (7).

  6. Object Number: 282272  Size: MH
  7. Remove the lower hood hinge bolts (1).
  8. Remove the lower hood hinge (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the hood hinge to the previously marked position.

  2. Object Number: 282272  Size: MH
  3. Install the lower hood hinge (2).
  4. Install the lower hood hinge bolts (1).

  5. Object Number: 282253  Size: MH
  6. Install the upper hood hinge bolts (2).
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the upper hood hinge bolts (7).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the hood hinge bolts to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

  10. Align the hood. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
