The Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system is the vehicle system which discourages unauthorized entry into the vehicle. The CTD system provides the theft deterrent by sounding the horn and flashing the daytime running lights (DRLs) when there is an unauthorized entry or tampering detected

When the CTD is activated, the body control module (BCM) monitors the status of the following circuits:

    • The left front door jamb switch
    • The right front door jamb switch
    • The left rear door jamb switch (sedan only)
    • The right rear door jamb switch (sedan only)
    • The rear compartment lamp switch

Once the CTD alarm is activated, the BCM supplies a ground for the control circuit of the horn relay. The relay closes, supplying battery voltage to the horn, and the horn sounds. The BCM also supplies a ground for the control circuit of the DRL relay, turning on the DRLs.
