Was the Exterior Light Diagnostic System Check performed?

Visually inspect the 20 Amp STOP HZD fuse for an open.

Is an open present?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 9

With the hazard switch open, test terminal 2 on the flasher assembly for continuity to ground.

Is ground present?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair short to ground in the Fuse Output-Battery Circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Test terminal 3 of the flasher assembly for continuity to ground.

Is ground present?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair Short to ground in the Hazard Flasher Output Circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Individually test Terminals F, G, B and C of the Hazard Warning Switch Assembly for continuity to ground.

Is ground present?

Go to Step 8

Repair short to ground in suspect shorted wire Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Test for positive battery voltage at terminal 2 of Flasher Assembly.

Was positive battery voltage present?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 13

With the hazard switch closed, test terminal 3 of flasher assembly for positive battery voltage.

Is voltage present?

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 11

Replace the flasher assembly.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

With the hazard switch on, test terminal D of the Hazard Switch Assembly for positive battery voltage.

Is voltage present?

Go to Step 15

Go to Step 14

Repair open in Fuse Output-Battery Circuit.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair open in Hazard Flasher Output Circuit.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Test for positive battery voltage at terminals F, G, B and C of the Hazard Warning Switch.

Was voltage present?

System OK

Go to Step 16

Replace internally open Hazard warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK
