COIL WIRE SERVICE IDENTIFICATION OF PROPER COIL

1982 2000 SUNBIRD (VIN CODE G) 1983-84 2000 SUNBIRD (VIN CODE P)

When replacing the coil wire on the 1982-84 Sunbird with the 1.8L carbureted engine or the 2.0L fuel injected engines the proper P/N wire must be used to insure proper engagement of the terminal and sealing against contamination, (See Illustration attached).

NOTICE: If the 1985-86 part is used on the 1982-84 models, the boot will be short on the distributor end and a poor seal against contamination may result. Also the coil end is slightly longer and may not provide proper terminal engagement.
