  1. Remove the speedometer driven gear guide bracket bolt (605), washer (606) and the bracket (607).
  2. Remove the speedometer driven gear assembly (603).
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    2. Object Number: 166253 Size: SH
  2. Remove the speedometer cable (2) from the speedometer driven gear case.
  3. Remove the speedometer guide bracket bolt (1) and the speedometer guide bracket from the extension housing.

    4. Object Number: 166256 Size: SH
  4. Remove the speedometer driven gear case (2) from the extension housing.
  5. Remove the speedometer driven gear (1) from the speedometer driven gear case (2).
  6. Remove the lip seal from the speedometer driven gear case (2).
  7. Inspect the speedometer driven gear (1) for excessive wear. Replace the gear, if necessary.
