Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the rear differential. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Remove the rear lower control arms. Refer to
Lower Control Arm Replacement.
- Remove the rear suspension lower control arm reinforcement bolts (1).
- Remove the rear suspension lower control arm reinforcement (2).
- Remove the rear crossmember mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the rear crossmember (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear crossmember (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the rear crossmember mounting bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten all the support bolts to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
- Install the rear suspension lower control arm reinforcement (2).
- Install the rear suspension lower control arm reinforcement bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
- Install the rear lower control arms. Refer to
Lower Control Arm Replacement.
- Install the rear differential. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Lower the vehicle.
- Inspect for rear wheel alignment and adjust as necessary. Refer to
Wheel Alignment Measurement.
