REAR MAIN BEARING CAP REVISED DESIGN

THE REAR MAIN BEARING CAP ON THE 1981 60F V-6 ENGINES HAS BEEN RE-DESIGNED. THE GROOVE FOR THE OIL PAN SEAL HAS BEEN ELIMINATED. IF THE SUBJECT BEARING CAP IS INSTALLED, A NEW OIL PAN (P/N 14024259) MUST BE USED AS THE PREVIOUS MODEL PANS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE IN THIS AREA. WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW OIL PAN, APPLY A 2.0MM BEAD OF SEALANT AROUND THE ENTIRE OIL PAN FLANGE AND INSTALL ATTACHING BOLTS.
