MOAN OR VIB. WITH A/C ON (INSTALL SUPPORT BRACE)

Models Affected:19855-88 FIREBIRD, 1985-86 BONNEVILLE AND PARISIENNE, 1985-87 GRAND PRIX AND 1985 SAFARI WAGON MODELS EQUIPPED WITH LB4, LG4, L69,LB9, L98 AND LM1 ENGINES (VIN CODES H, G, F, Z AND 6)

This bulletin supersedes bulletin 87-1-3A dated 2187 which should be discarded due to added model applications.

Some 1985-88 Firebird, 1985-86 Bonneville and Parisienne, 1985-87 Grand Prix and 1985 Safari Wagon models equipped with V-8 (VIN F, G, H, or 6) or V-6 (VIN Z) engines (without serpentine accessory drive) may exhibit a moan or engine vibration when the air conditioning compressor is engaged. This condition may be corrected by the installation of a support brace to the A/C compressor mounting bracket. Refer to the illustration for installation procedure.

IMPORTANT: THE STUD SHOULD BE COATED WITH THREAD SEALANT, P/N 1052080, PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
