Camshaft Position Actuator Fastener Installation
Notice : Use only a Torx PlusĀ® Bit when removing or installing the Camshaft Position Actuator retention Fasteners.
The three camshaft position actuator retention fasteners used on the 3.5L and 3.9L V6 engines are of the Torx PlusĀ® design. Refer to the graphic illustration number (1) for the Torx PlusĀ® fasteners. The Torx PlusĀ® design differs from typical
TorxĀ® fastener. Use of a standard TORXĀ® bit on TORX PlusĀ® fasteners may result in a rounded out fastener head, incorrect fastener torque or a damaged Torx PlusĀ® bit. The Torx PlusĀ® bit size is a T30 and is available from your local tool suppliers.
