Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 512038  Size: MH
  1. Remove the wiper arms from the vehicle. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
  4. Remove the five screws from the wiper transmission.
  5. Remove the wiper transmission from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the six insulators from the wiper transmission.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 512038  Size: MH
  1. Install the six insulators onto the wiper drive system module.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wiper transmission onto the vehicle with the five screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the five screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
  6. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Install the wiper arms onto the vehicle. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  8. Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
