Removal Procedure
- Remove the nut from the
wiper motor drive shaft.
- Remove the washer and seal from the wiper motor drive shaft.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
- Remove the two screws and the wiper motor from the liftgate.
- Remove the wiper motor
cover.
- Remove the circuit board from the wiper motor.
- Remove the screw and the bracket from the wiper motor.
- Remove the insulator from the wiper motor.
- Remove the seal and the spacer from the wiper motor.
Installation Procedure
- Install the spacer and
the seal onto the wiper motor.
- Install the insulator onto the wiper motor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bracket
onto the wiper motor with the screw.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the circuit board into the wiper motor.
- Install the wiper motor cover.
- Install the wiper motor
onto the liftgate with the two screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to wiper motor.
- Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Install the washer and seal onto the wiper motor drive shaft.
- Install the nut onto the wiper motor drive shaft.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
