🢒 Power Steering Return Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Remove the right side engine splash shield in order to gain access. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
in Body Front End.
Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
Remove the return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
Remove the inlet hose from the power steering pump.
Remove the inlet hose from the hose retainer.
Remove the inlet hose.
Installation Procedure
Install the inlet hose.
Install the inlet hose to the hose retainer.
Install the inlet hose to the power steering pump.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Install the inlet hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
Install the right side engine splash shield. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
in Body Front End.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations
in Maintenance and Lubrication.
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
