Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1222960 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  3. Remove the rear timing belt cover bolts (1).
  4. Remove the rear timing belt cover (2).

  5. Remove the coolant pump nuts (2).
  6. Remove the bolts (1).
  7. Remove the coolant pump (3, 4).
  8. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223126 Size: SH
  1. Install the coolant pump with the new gasket.
  2. Install the coolant pump bolts (1) and tighten to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

    3. Object Number: 1223127 Size: SH
  3. Install the rear timing belt cover and bolts (1) and tighten to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).
  4. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement for the 0.8L engine or Timing Belt Replacement for the 1.0L engine.
  5. Connect the lower radiator hose and fill the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
