Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618038 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the liftgate handle nuts.
  5. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
  6. Remove the liftgate handle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1618038 Size: SH
  2. Install the liftgate handle with the nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate handle nuts to 5 N·m (44 in lb).

  3. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Close the liftgate.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
