Removal Procedure
- Remove the steering column covers.
- Disconnect the two-pin connector from the detection coil (2).
- Pry the detection coil away from the lock cylinder (1).
Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column .
Important: If the detection coil will be replaced with a new one, it does not matter if the key position trim ring is damaged during removal. A new trim ring is part of the new detection coil.
Installation Procedure
- Install the detection coil by pressing it onto the lock cylinder until it snaps in place.
- Connect the two-pin connector to the immobilizer.
- Install the steering column covers with the screws. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column .
