- Lift and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Inspect the end play of the bearing.
- If excessive play is detected, free shoes from the disc or remove the
calipers.
- Inspect the standard torque of the drive nut.
Tighten
Tighten the drive nut to 210 N·m (155 lb ft).
- Inspect the bearing end play according to the following method.
5.1. | Place a dial gage against the disc surface and grasp the disc. |
5.2. | Using a push-pull movement, note the gage readings. |
Specification
• | 0.130 mm (0.005 in) or less |
• | The standard tightening torque of the drive shaft nut is 210 N·m
(155 lb ft). |
5.3. | If the bearing end play of the front wheel bearing exceeds 0.130 mm,
tighten the drive nut successively. |
Specification
The maximum allowance is240 N·m
(177 lb ft).
5.4. | Inspect the bearing end play again. |
5.5. | If the bearing end play is above the specifications, replace the front
wheel bearing. |
