Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the compressor hose block to the evaporator tube.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the evaporator tube.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the condenser.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
- Remove and discard all sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
- Install new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
Important: Use a 20mm wrench or pliers to hold the A/C condenser block fitting, this will prevent the A/C line from twisting while torquing the A/C line nut.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the evaporator tube.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to evaporator tube nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the component using
J 39400-A
.

Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to

- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the condenser.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the evaporator tube.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the evaporator tube.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the A/C compressor.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
- Remove and discard all sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
- Install new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install new seals washers to the A/C compressor hose assembly and evaporator tube. Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the evaporator tube.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to evaporator tube nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (12.5 lb ft).
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
