Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
- Remove the front seat trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the front seat cushion cover. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors for the seat heater and lumbar switches.
- Pull the electrical wire for the seat heater and lumbar through the cushion pad.
- Remove the front seat cushion pad from the seat cushion frame.
Caution: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete
assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service
kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the
service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.
- If replacing the front passenger seat cushion, you must also replace the inflatable restraint passenger presence system. Refer to
Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement - Front.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front seat cushion pad to the front seat cushion frame.
- If equipped, install the seat heater and lumbar wires.
- If equipped, connect the electrical connectors for the seat heater and lumbar switches.
- Install the front seat cushion cover. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
- Install the front seat trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .
- Install the front seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
Caution: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you
remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system
to malfunction.
- Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to
Passenger Presence System Programming and Setup .
