Removal Procedure

UP/Down or In/Out Adjustment


    Object Number: 800994  Size: SH

    Notice: To avoid paint damage, protect the area surrounding the part which you are removing or installing.

  1. Apply masking tape to the fender and the door edges.
  2. Loosen the door side hinge bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3, 4). Do not remove the bolts all the way.
  3. Adjust the door up or down by repositioning the front door as needed.
  4. Adjust the door in or out by repositioning the front door as needed.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Tighten the door side hinge bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3, 4).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  3. Inspect the door for proper operation.
  4. Remove the masking tape.

Fore/Aft Adjustment

  1. Remove the front fender insulator to gain access to the upper and lower hinge bolts located in the hinge pillar. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement .
  2. Notice: To avoid paint damage, protect the area surrounding the part which you are removing or installing.

  3. Apply masking tape to the fender and door edges.
  4. Loosen the upper body side hinge bolts (1, 2). Do not remove the bolts all the way.

  5. Loosen the lower hinge bolts to the hinge pillar side.
  6. Adjust the door for and aft by repositioning the door as needed.

Installation Procedure

  5. Tighten the lower hinge bolts to the hinge pillar side.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Inspect the door for proper operation.
  8. Remove the masking tape.
