Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column 🢒 Steering Wheel Shroud Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1228537 Size: SH
  4. If equipped, remove the cruise control switch screws (1).
  5. Remove the steering wheel shroud screws (2).
  6. Remove the steering wheel shroud (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1228537 Size: SH
  1. Install the steering wheel shroud (3) to the steering wheel.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the steering wheel shroud screws (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the steering wheel shroud screws to 2.2 N·m (19 lb in).

  3. If equipped, install the cruise control switch screws (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the cruise control switch screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  4. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
