Knock Sensor Replacement Left

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1554554 Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.

    3. Object Number: 1551881 Size: SH
  3. Remove the knock sensor bolt.
  4. Remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1551881 Size: SH
  1. Position the knock sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the knock sensor bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
  4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Knock Sensor Replacement Right

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1554552 Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector (2).

    4. Object Number: 1551882 Size: SH
  4. Remove the knock sensor bolt.
  5. Remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1551882 Size: SH
  1. Position the knock sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the knock sensor bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1554552 Size: SH
  3. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the exhaust right manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side .
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
