Service VME - Trunk Storage Compartment Door Eliminated - kw body handle lid trim door interior part rear

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Starting with 2004 Grand Prix production built April 29 and forward, the rear storage compartment door will no longer be either standard or available with new vehicles coming from the assembly plant. These doors which mount to the trunk trim in the right rear quarter panel and the slots cut into the trunk trim, have both been removed from the lifestyle package which appears on the window label for some 2004 Grand Prix’s. The wording 'Covered Storage' has also been removed from the window label of all vehicles built after April 29, 2004. Please make sure your new vehicle receiving inspection personnel do not write this up as a transportation shortage and submit a claim for it. Also make sure your service advisors do not write this up as a warranty claim for being missing. Thanks for your help in communicating this information throughout your dealership.
