When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
This is a product service message going to Pontiac Dealer service managers regarding 2004 Grand Prix steering wheels. You may experience a customer complaint that the silver finish on the steering wheel spokes is starting to wear off especially near the radio control button. We are aware of the condition and engineering is researching a more durable finish for this application. Currently you can only get the silver covers as part of the complete steering wheel. We will be releasing the silver spoke covers separately, but until then we are asking you NOT replace any steering wheels for this condition as outlined in advance service bulletin 04-02-35-002 sent out via dealer messenger last week. We will advise you in an update to this advance service bulletin when the individual spoke covers are available through GM Parts. This is Fred Tebbets GP BQM and Thank in advance you for your support with this product concern.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
