This bulletin is being revised to extend the parts restriction program through August 1, 2003. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-06-04-027 (Section 06-Engine).
Important: "IPC' dealers are not authorized to utilize this Service Bulletin.
The above vehicle is equipped with a new PCM.
In order to provide feedback and increased customer satisfaction, a parts restriction program will be in effect through August 1, 2003 on the following part:
PCM P/N 12581501
Important: If the restricted part listed above is ordered directly from GMSPO, the order will be rejected with a message to contact TAC.
For repair diagnosis help or potential part replacement, Dealers within the U.S. should contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at 1-877-4-GMTACS (1-877-446-8227). Dealers must be ready to provide the following information when calling TAC.

TAC will make arrangements to ship the parts to your dealership.
A TAC case reference number is required PRIOR to placing an order.
GM Dealers within Canada should contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at 1-800-263-7740 (English) or 1-800-263-7960 (French). Dealers must be ready to provide the following information when calling TAC.

To place an order, GM Dealers within Canada should contact the General Motors Service Parts Assistance Centre (SPAC) through GM TRACS at 1-866-275-5832 and provide the TAC case reference number. SPAC will make the arrangements to ship the parts to your dealership.
As part of continuous improvement to GM products, the GM Warranty Parts Center (WPC) will request all of the parts in this restriction program to be returned per normal WPC procedures outlined in Corporate Bulletin Number 99-00-89-019B dated January 2002 (dealers in Canada should refer to Home Office Letter 99-201). To increase the effectiveness of this program, submit the warranty claim as soon as possible in order for the WPC to process the necessary return request.
Important: ALL PARTS IN THIS RESTRICTION PROGRAM ARE TO BE RETURNED TO THE WPC. DO NOT RETURN THE PART UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE REQUEST FROM THE WPC. THE WPC REQUEST WILL BE GENERATED WHEN THE CLAIM IS PAID AND DEALERS SHOULD RECEIVE THE REQUEST ALONG WITH THEIR CREDIT MEMOS. IF A WPC REQUEST IS NOT RECEIVED WHEN THE CLAIM IS PAID, PLEASE CONTACT WPC CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AT 1-248-371-9901/9902.
