Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the push button from the front door lock.



2. Insert a flat-bladed tool at the front edge of the door handle bezel. Pull the bezel away from the door to disengage the retaining clips.



3. Remove the pull handle cover.




Notice: Use a thin walled socket or a Torx® head driver to remove the pull handle screws. Do NOT use a standard socket, which will split the plastic tubes that locate the screws.

4. Using a thin walled socket or Torx® head driver, remove the screws (1) from the pull handle.



5. Use J 38778 to disengage the push-in retainers and remove the trim panel from the front door inner panel. Begin at the lower rear of the panel.



6. Lift the panel up to disengage the channel at the top door edge and at the door lock push button.



7. Disconnect the electrical connector to the door electric harness. Use a flat-bladed tool to disengage the gray cam lock. Lift the cam lock and separate the connector.
8. Remove the front door trim panel from the vehicle.

1. Connect the electrical connector to the door electric harness. Press the gray cam lock in to secure the connector.



2. Position the panel over the door lock push button and engage the channel at the top door edge.
3. Verify that the door handle comes through the bezel. Install the front door trim panel, pressing until the retainers are fully seated.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




4. Install the pull handle trim retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).




5. Install the pull handle cover.
6. Install the door handle bezel, pressing in to engage the retaining clips.
7. Install the push button to the front door lock.
