Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1204640  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Disengage but do not remove the connector position assurance (CPA) on the connector.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).

  4. Remove the screw and discard.
  5. Remove the brake pedal position sensor and discard.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1204637  Size: SH

    Important: DO NOT reuse the sensor or bolt. Always use a NEW sensor and bolt.

  1. Position the sensor fork to the pin.
  2. Install a new sensor.
  3. Rotate the sensor in order to align the sensor locator to the hole in the extension bracket.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install a new brake pedal position sensor screw.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connector (2).
  7. Engage the CPA. The CPA will not engage if the connector is not attached properly.

  8. Calibrate the sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration Description and Operation .
  9. Install the I/P insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
