Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement Coupe

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
3. Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
4. Remove the coat hook from the quarter upper trim by pulling out the retainer using a small, flat-bladed tool.
5. Remove the front seat belt, shoulder harness bolt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.
6. Remove the side rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.



7. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel by disengaging the push-in retainers using J 38778 .
8. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel from the rear quarter inner panel.

1. Position the rear quarter upper trim panel to the rear quarter inner panel.
2. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel by pressing into place until fully seated.



3. Align the coat hook to the hole in the rear quarter upper trim panel. Press in the coat hook retainer until fully seated.
4. Install the side rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Install the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
6. Install the front seat belt, shoulder harness bolt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.
7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.

Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement Sedan

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
3. Pull the door weatherstrip from the pinchweld flange as required.
4. Use J 38778 to remove the quarter upper trim by disengaging push-in retainers.
5. Remove quarter upper trim from vehicle.

1. Position the trim panel on the rear quarter inner panel.
2. Push the trim panel in to engage the retainers.
3. Press the door weatherstrip onto the pinchweld flange.
4. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
5. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
