Roof Console Replacement With Storage

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the screw located by the windshield.
  2. Insert a flat-bladed tool to the rear of the off/on switches and detach the console lamp assembly.
  3. Disconnect the lamp electric connector.
  4. Open the storage compartments.

  5. Object Number: 317109  Size: SH
  6. Remove the overhead console screws.
  7. Remove the overhead console housing.
  8. Remove the backing plate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 317109  Size: SH
  1. Install the backing plate.
  2. Install the overhead console housing.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the overhead console screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the overhead console screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the screw located by the windshield.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the overhead console screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Close the storage units.
  9. Connect the lamp electrical connector.
  10. Install the overhead console reading lamp.

Roof Console Replacement W/Out Storage

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 317100  Size: MH
  1. Insert a flat-bladed tool in the side opposite the windshield and unsnap the overhead console.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the console from the car.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electric connector.

  2. Object Number: 317100  Size: MH
  3. Press the console back into the roof.
  4. Make sure the retainers snap back to secure the unit.
