  1. Place the transmission in the PARK position.
  2. Operate the rear compartment lid release switch.

Did the rear compartment lid release?

Operate the rear compartment release from the keyless entry keyfob.

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator and a good ground.
  3. Operate the rear compartment lid release switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator and the ground circuit of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
  2. Operate the rear compartment lid release switch.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear compartment lid release switch and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear compartment lid release switch for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the battery voltage circuit of the park/neutral position switch for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the control circuit of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
