Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector to the mirror wire harness.
Caution: Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this
procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.
- Remove the
mirror face. Refer to
Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement
.
- Remove the screws from
the mirror motor.
- Pull the motor electrical harness through the mirror housing.
- Remove the motor from the mirror housing.
Installation Procedure
- Position the motor to
the mirror housing.
- Pull the motor electrical harness through to the inside door panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
to the mirror motor.
Tighten
Tighten the mirror motor screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the mirror face to the mirror housing. Refer to
Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement
.
- Connect the electrical
connector to the mirror wire harness.
- Check the operation of the mirror.
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
