  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the low washer fluid indicator.

Does the low washer fluid indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the windshield washer solvent level sensor connector.
  2. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the low washer fluid indicator control circuit and a good ground.
  3. Wait for 2 ½ minutes.

Does the low washer fluid indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the low washer fluid indicator control circuit and the windshield washer solvent level sensor ground circuit.
  2. Wait for 2 ½ minutes.

Does the low washer fluid indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 8

  1. Disconnect the windshield washer solvent level sensor connector.
  2. Wait for 2 ½ minutes.

Did the low washer fluid indicator turn OFF?

Go to Step 8

Test the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Test the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs or Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a poor connection at the windshield washer solvent level sensor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a poor connection at the IPC connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the windshield washer solvent level sensor.

Replace the DIC. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Operate the windshield wiper/washer system in order to verify the repair.
