Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  3. Disconnect the wiper transmission from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232 .

  5. Remove the wiper drive system screws.
  6. Remove the wiper drive system module from the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 334250  Size: SH
  8. Remove the rubber boot from the wiper motor crank arm.
  9. Loosen the wiper motor crank arm screw.
  10. Tap on the wiper motor crank arm screw with a soft-faced mallet while holding up on the wiper motor crank arm until the wiper motor crank arm is loose on wiper motor.
  11. Remove the wiper motor crank arm screw and the wiper motor crank arm from the wiper motor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
  2. Turn ON the ignition.
  3. Turn the wiper switch to DELAY.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition when the wiper motor is paused in the innerwipe position.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.

  6. Object Number: 512040  Size: SH
  7. Install the wiper motor crank arm on the wiper motor.
  8. Measure the gap between wiper motor crank arm and the bracket tab. If the gap is not 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 in), remove the wiper motor crank arm and repeat installation.
  9. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  10. Install the wiper motor crank arm screw .
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the wiper motor crank arm screw to 16 N·m (142 lb in).

  12. Install the rubber boot onto the wiper motor crank arm.

  13. Object Number: 334235  Size: SH
  14. Position the wiper drive system module on the vehicle.
  15. Install the wiper drive system screws.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the wiper drive system module screws to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  17. Install the wiper transmission on the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 .
  18. Install the electrical connector onto the wiper motor.
  19. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  20. Operate the windshield wipers and inspect for proper operation.
