Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

Open the IP compartment.

Does the lamp turn ON?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Remove the IP compartment lamp.
3. Connect a test lamp to a good ground.
4. Probe the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit with the test lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit and the ground circuit of the IP compartment lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit of the IP compartment lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the IP compartment lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the IP compartment lamp switch. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
