Did you perform the Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check?

  1. Disconnect the theft deterrent shock sensor.
  2. Use a test light in order to connect between the theft deterrent shock sensor connector terminals A and C.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C2 terminal D14 and the shock sensor harness connector terminal B.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

2ohms

Go to Step 6

Use a test light in order to connect between the theft deterrent shock sensor harness connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Adjust the shock sensor.
  2. If the shock sensor sensitivity does not correct the malfunction, replace the shock sensor.

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 1828.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. The BCM flashes the fasten belts indicator and sounds the chime 4 times. This identifies the BCM type installed on the vehicle.
  7. Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position.
  8. Turn the ignition switch back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.
