  1. Turn the ignition switch on.
  2. Using a Digital Multimeter (DMM), measure voltage between the following locations:
  3. • Trip calculator: terminal B9 and ground
    • Driver Information Display (DID): terminal D and ground

Is the voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 3

Repair the open or poor connection in CKT 39.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. If the vehicle is equipped with skip to Step 5.
  2. Using a DMM, measure voltage between the trip calculator terminal A1 and ground.

Is the voltage measured within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the open or poor connection in CKT 640.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Using a DMM, measure resistance between the following locations:

  1. Trip calculator: terminals B4, B5 and ground
  2. DID: terminal O and ground

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open or poor connection in CKT 1450 and/or CKT 1550.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Inspect for a poor connection at the trip computer/DID.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the trip calculator/DID. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .
