DEFINITION: The windshield header courtesy/reading lamps do not turn on when neither the courtesy lights are on, nor the windshield header courtesy/reading lamp switches are on.

Inspect the filament of the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps bulbs.

Are any bulb filaments open?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 3

1. Disconnect the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps electrical connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position.
3. Turn the IP dimmer switch to the DOME position.
4. Using a test light, probe between the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps harness connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Using a test light probe between the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps harness connector  terminals A and B.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Using a test light, probe between the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps harness connector  terminals A and C.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Replace the windshield header courtesy/reading lamp bulbs.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 1393.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 690.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Replace the windshield header courtesy/reading lamps assembly.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 350.
