Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint (SIR).
  3. Remove the instrument panel (IP) insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  4. Remove the left and the right carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Remove the side upper garnish moldings from the windshield. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Remove the IP upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  7. Remove the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  8. Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  9. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  10. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  11. Remove the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Remove the HVAC control assembly. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC-Manual.
  14. Remove the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  15. Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  16. Remove the HUD dimmer switch, if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .
  17. Remove the HUD module, if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Module Replacement .
  18. Remove the driver information center. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .
  19. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  20. Remove the IP compartment lamp. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Replacement .
  21. Remove the IP compartment lamp switch.
  22. Remove the inside air temperature sensor, if equipped. Refer to Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC-Automatic.

  24. Remove the IP trim pad bolts at the windshield.

  25. Object Number: 574248  Size: SH
  26. Remove the mounting bolts (1) from the left side lower trim pad.

  27. Object Number: 574362  Size: SH
  28. Remove the mounting bolt (1) from the IP cluster pocket.
  29. Position the IP wiring harness aside.
  30. Remove the IP trim pad from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 326084  Size: SH
  1. Install the IP trim pad to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the IP wiring harness.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the IP upper trim pad bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the IP cluster pocket bolt (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the pocket bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  8. Install the left side IP lower bolts (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the IP lower bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  11. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  12. Install the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  13. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  14. Install the IP upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  15. Install the side upper garnish moldings to the windshield. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  16. Install the IP insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  17. Install the IP compartment lamp switch.
  18. Install the IP compartment lamp. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  19. Install the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  20. Install the driver information center. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .
  21. Install the HUD module , if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Module Replacement .
  22. Install the HUD dimmer switch, if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .
  23. Install the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  24. Install the air temperature sensor, if equipped. Refer to Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC-Automatic.
  25. Install the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  26. Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC-Manual.
  27. Install the radio system. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  28. Install the IP trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  29. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  30. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
  31. Connect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
