Table 1: Ignition Key Can Be Turned to the LOCK Position with the Transaxle Out of Park

Problem

Action

The actuator rod is damaged.

Replace the rod as needed.

The sector to the rack is engaged in the incorrect tooth.

  1. Inspect the components.
  2. Service the components as needed.
  3. Reassemble the components.

The switch is faulty.

Replace the switch.

  3. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the Automatic Transmission Control connector terminal C and ground.

  2. Replace the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator if the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator is not damaged.
  3. Inspect the automatic transmission shift lock control system.

    • Terminal A
    • Terminal B
