Removal Procedure

  1. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel as required. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the lock striker to the rear compartment for its location at installation.
  3. Remove the bolt from inside the rear compartment.
  4. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 318885  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts from under the rear bumper fascia.
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318885  Size: SH
  1. Position the rear compartment lid lock striker to the rear compartment body panel.
  2. Install the bolts in the rear compartment lid lock striker under the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the bolts part way allowing for the adjustment of the rear compartment lid lock striker.
  5. Close the rear compartment lid in order to set the adjustment of the compartment lid.
  6. Tighten the striker bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the lock striker bolts to 16 N·m (12 lb in).

  8. Install the bolt to the lock striker in the rear compartment.
  9. Important: Due to sealer squeeze out on the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts, inspect the fastener tightening specifications at least two times.

    Tighten
    Tighten the lock striker bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb in).

  10. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  11. Install the rear compartment trim panels. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Close the rear compartment.
