Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

  1. Remove the front carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  2. Remove the screws holding the carpet retaining leg of the panel.

  3. Object Number: 491200  Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower trim panel from the B-Pillar using J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover in order to disengage the retainers.
  5. Remove the seat belt from the slot in the lower trim panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 491200  Size: SH
  1. Position the seat belt in the slot in the lower trim panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws that hold the carpet retaining leg of the panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the carpet retainer screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Push firmly on the lower trim panel in order to seat the retainers.
  6. Install the front carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
